Summary

Manoj Bhandage was born on 5 October 1998, and his cricketing journey began at an early age. His cricketing skills blossomed with the practice and right guidance. The 25-year-old left-handed batsman clear boundaries with ease. Additionally, he also developed a right-arm medium-fast bowling style, which made him a more valuable player.

Bhandage made his domestic debut in the 2019 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he represented his home state, Karnataka. Their opponents were the Assam team and the match was played on 21 February 2019. When the team lost five wickets, Bhandage came to the pitch but he didn’t get to play many balls. He scored 11 runs in 6 balls. In the end, his team defeated the Assam by 15 runs. It was a quiet happy start for him.

Overall his performance in the 2019 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy was impressive. His performance caught the eye of selectors of the Karnataka List A team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He played his first List A match on 12 November 2022 against the Meghalaya team. This time he wasn’t very lucky. He got out at 0 runs in his debut match, but his team won that match by 115 runs. Despite a bad start, he didn’t let his confidence go down, in other matches he showcased his all-round abilities, contributing many runs and dismissing batters at crucial times.

We haven’t seen him playing in the IPL matches yet but hopefully, this year, the Royal Challengers Bangalore will give him a place in the playing 11 and we will witness his debut this season.
