The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 is almost at our doorsteps and fans are desperately waiting to see the squad of 15 players that will travel to the United States of America (USA) and West Indies to represent team India in this big event.
One of the major selection headaches for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is which two wicketkeers to choose between the Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, Jitesh Sharma, Dinesh Karthik, and Dhruv Jurel. It is going be a hard thing to pick two between these seven talented cricketers.
Race Among The Wicket-Keepers
As we know, currently these cricketers are showing their skills in the short format cricket tournament, IPL 2024. This ongoing league has altered the predictions of many cricket experts about the 15 players that will wear the Blue Indian Jersey in June.
Earlier we weren’t even expecting the Dinesh Karthik to participate in this race to secure the wicket-keeping gloves in the upcoming ICC tournament. But after watching his great performance for the Royal Challengers Bangaluru team in IPL, fans are hoping to see him in the squad.
The legendary former Indian Cricketer, Yuvraj Singh is also impressed with Karthik’s performance in the tournament. He believes that he should be selected for the T20 World Cup but also suggests to the selectors that pick him only if they are going to give him a place in the playing XI. He further advised that if they aren’t sure to include him in the playing XI like they did last time back in 2022, they should rather choose a younger player.
Karthik is doing great but he may need to perform even better because currently Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson seem to be impressive with their bats. Pant who recently played a great knock of 88 runs in 43 balls against the Gujarat Titans is the leading run scorer followed by Samson among the seven wicket-keepers we mentioned earlier.
Pant is the number one choice as the wicket-keeper so most probably we will see him playing in the tournament but who will be the second player? Samson has been performing great but many are considering KL Rahul as a better choice for his ability to play a wide range of shots.
The BCCI will announce the squad soon. Until then KL Rahul, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, Jitesh Sharma, Dinesh Karthik, and Dhruv Jurel have a few more matches to show their cricketing skills and impress the selectors.

No one can certainly say which 15 players will be participating in the World Cup but considering the recent stats and other metrics, many cricket experts are sharing their opinions and predictions. Here is India’s Predicted Squad:

The battle for the wicket-keeper’s spot in the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 is intense, with the 7 contenders. As we mentioned earlier, experts are quite confident about Rishabh’s place in the squad, for the second spot, many predictions are suggesting either Jitesh Sharma or Sanju Samson.
But Rahul’s wide range of shots and Karthik’s recent performance is already confusing the selectors. Ishan Kishan and Dhruv Jurel are also good choices for this role. But because anything is possible, the selectors might surprise us by choosing someone that isn’t among the seven names that we discussed.
