The Women’s Premier League, which fans also call Women’s IPL, was successful in entertaining cricket fans all around the globe. Just like the Indian Premier League, Tata has bought the title rights for the Women’s Premier League as well, and that’s why the tournament is also called Tata WPL. The amount that Tata is paying in this deal is not specified. We can also see some other sponsors like CEAT Tyres and Dream11 from the IPL believing in and investing in women’s cricket. We have only witnessed one season of the WPL and the brands are already interested in coming forward and sponsoring the tournament. We are now used to seeing the CEAT Tyres advertisement during the strategic break in IPL matches. They are becoming the Strategic Timeout Partner for WPL as well, and they will pay 4 crore rupees per season. On the other hand, Dream11 will pay 6 crore rupees per season to become the Fantasy League Partner.

The dairy company, Amul, as a pouring partner, is going to pay around 2.5 crore rupees and cover all the beverage expenses during the tournament. Viacom18 has signed the streaming rights for 5 years in a 951 crore deal with BCCI, while Jio Cinema has acquired the digital streaming rights. These are some of the big names, but there are many other sponsors. Backed by such sponsorships, the WPL is looking financially strong.

Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Giants, Delhi Capitals, and UP Warriorz are the 5 teams participating in the Women’s Premier League. As soon as the BCCI announced that they were going to start this tournament, we saw excitement among the brands to sponsor the league and these teams.

The BCCI has set some rules for the teams that they have to follow while accepting the sponsorships. According to the rules, teams can’t partner with cryptocurrencies, tobacco, or gambling-related brands. If any of the 5 teams are found violating the rules, the cricket board will take strict action against them. Now let us explore the sponsorships of each team.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

The same Group, Royal Challengers Sports Private Limited that owns the RCB team in IPL, won the bid for the team in WPL as well. Kajaria Ceramics is the main sponsor while Mia by Tanishq, Dream11, Vega Beauty, Himalayan Face Care, and Puma are among the key sponsors.

Delhi Capitals

JSW, the principal sponsor, and GMR Group together bought the Delhi Capitals franchise team in the WPL. Galaxy Basmati Rice is the associate partner of the team while Yatra is the official partner. Sports Buzz 11, Navyasa, and Joy Personal Care are among the key sponsors.

Mumbai Indians

The IndiaWin Sports Private Limited, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited, owns the Mumbai Indian team. The principal partners are Lotus Herbals and Ashok Leyland while Dream11 and Sonata Software are the associate partners. Official partners include Usha, Max Life Insurance, and Nutrizoe.

UP Warriorz

Capri Global Holdings Private Limited (CGCL) owns the UP Warriorz. Patanjali Ayurved Limited is the principal sponsor while other key sponsors include French Essence perfume and Transworld.

Gujarat Titans

Gautam Adani owned Adani Sportsline Private Limited, won the bid for the Gujarat Titans. Ambuja Cement is the title sponsor while Sports Buzz 11 and Cristos are the principal sponsors. Other key sponsors include Tata Capitals, Fortune, Gopal Namkeen, and Adani Group.
