The South African wicketkeeper-batter, Ryan Rickelton impressed us all with his unmatched consistency with the bat this season. Playing for MI Cape Town, he made 530 runs in 10 matches. Another wicketkeeper-batter with the same nationality, Heinrich Klaasen, is at the second number with 447 runs in 13 matches. For his valuable performance in the tournament, he was honored with two awards (more about it later) during the ceremony.
The young middle-order batsman, Jordan Hermann did well with the bat and scored 295 runs in 11 matches. He is the only Sunrisers Eastern Cape squad player in the top 10 batters with the most runs in SA20 2024. We can see a clear dominance of Durban Super Giants in this list. Heinrich Klaasen, Matthew Breetzke, JJ Smuts, and Wiaan Mulder are the four players from the Super Giants team to be in the list.

As you can see in the list, Ryan Rickelton with 530 runs is the leading run-scorer in the tournament. Still, considering some other factors and rules, Heinrich Klaasen was awarded the Batter of the tournament. Klaasen, playing for the Durban Super Giants, couldn’t contribute much to the scoreboard in the final match, but throughout the tournament, he has been showing exceptional batting. He was also honored with the Player of the Season award.
You might be a little bit confused about why Klaasen received the award and not Rickelton. In T20 franchise cricket leagues like the Indian Premier League, the player with the most runs gets this honor and according to it, Rickelton deserves this title in this tournament, but instead, Klaasen with 447 runs (83 runs behind) was chosen.
