T20 Debut: Shams Mulani played his first T20 match against the Maharashtra team on 11 January 2018 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he represented Mumbai. In that match, he didn’t get the chance to bat and got to bowl only one over (no wickets). His team won the match easily by 7 wickets.
List A Debut: A month later, he made his debut in List A cricket by playing against the Madhya Pradesh team in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on 5 February. He was the leading wicket-taker in this match; in his 9 overs spell, he dismissed 4 batters and helped his team win the match by 74 runs.
