Aiden Markram the captain of Sunrisers Eastern Cape won the toss and decided to bat first. The opening batter Jordan Hermann couldn’t stand long with Dawid Malan and returned after scoring 2 runs. Tom Abell who came next formed a 54-run partnership with Malan who got out at 18 runs in the 9th over. The captain Aiden Markram came next and we saw another important partnership of 64 runs. 

Markram scored 54 runs while Tom with 60 runs was the biggest contributor. Tristan Stubbs also added 23 runs to the team’s total. Patrick Kruger and Marco Jansen didn’t get to play many balls and added 3 and 1 runs respectively. The team reached a respective score of 175 runs at the loss of 6 wickets. Kagiso Rabada and Nuwan Thushara each dismissed two batsmen however the later bowler was more economical.

Rassie van der Dussen and Ryan Rickelton opened the inning for MI Cape Town. Rassie got out early at 2 runs while Ryan stood on the crease a little longer and made 27 runs.
